DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Properly maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, and chippers.
  • Operates as part of a crew with supporting guidance and oversight
  • Work on the ground using gasoline-powered chainsaws
  • Gather brush and carry to chipper area
  • Work around noise from machines, chainsaws, woodchipper and must wear proper personal protective equipment
  • Help enforce on-the-job safety practices for crew members
  • Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area
  • Drive a truck with trailing units
  • Report the need for equipment and/or truck maintenance to the Crew Leader
  • Assists with new tree plantings
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE); or equivalent combination of education and experience equivalent to one-year skilled labor inherent to landscape maintenance and/or forestry or arboriculture preferred.
  • Possess the ability to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Have the skill or ability to learn the proper use, care and maintenance of hand, power and motorized tools.
  • Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.  CDL license a plus.  Chainsaw experience a plus
