  1. R.O.S.E Award Luncheon

    La Porte County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Indiana Dunes Tourism will host the 18th Annual ROSE Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, May 9, with keynote speaker will be Tom Dermody. The annual luncheon recognizes nominees of the past year and nominees from several other categories. The bureau is looking for those special people or organizations that went out of their way to boost our county's image and we need your help to find them. Please take a few minutes to help the bureau choose our special category award winners for 2018 and plan on attending the event. Nominations can be made by visiting www.michigancitylaporte.com/nomination-form/. Participants may nominate as many as they feel are deserving of receiving special notoriety for their contributions to excellent service and the community. Please indicate which award your nomination is for. Deadline for nominations is April 5. Also, nominations can be emailed to jane@michigancitylaporte.com.

  1. Spring Clean Up

    May 7, 2018 - May 11, 2018 @ City of La Porte

    Spring Cleanup is for La Porte residential customers only and collection will not include commercial or apartment buildings. Waste Management will conduct the special collection on the residents’ regular garbage collection day. All residents must have their garbage out for collection no later than 6 a.m. Household doors and windows, furniture, mattresses and carpeting will be accepted. Carpeting must be rolled and securely tied in no longer than four-foot sections for it to be collected. Bags placed for collection may not exceed 35 pounds and cans may not exceed 75 pounds. All small items must be in bags or cans for collection. Loose piles will be left for the homeowners’ disposal. Waste Management will not accept auto parts, engines, tires, batteries, lumber, chemicals, siding, plaster, drywall, paneling, fencing, concrete, iron or steel. No loose lumber or building materials will be collected. No appliances that contain Freon will be collected.
