    At the market you will find growers selling fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, cheese, honey, and often home baked goods. Our market items are coming directly from the producer allowing you the opportunity to get to know where your food is coming from. You will find your choice of products that have been grown, raised, made conventionally or organically without additive antibiotics, hormones, pesticides and /or insecticides. Nearly 95% of products available at the market will be sold directly by the producer.

  3. La Porte Chain of Lakes Paddling Event

    September 24, 2017, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Stone Lake Beach

    The Northwest Indiana Paddling Association, in collaboration with the La Porte County Conservation Trust, will hold the 8th annual La Porte Chain of Lakes paddling event at Stone Lake Beach. Explore the Pine and Stone lakes and the Hennesy wetlands, which are all connected by channels within easy reach of one another. Enjoy a nice kayak or canoe paddle on protected waters and find out about local conservation efforts.   6. Superhero Fun Fest

    Family Advocates invites you to join us for our 5th annual Superhero Fun Fest and 5K run/walk. Come spend the day with us and enjoy the fun while supporting a wonderful cause. Family Advocates is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for children who have been abused or neglected. Heroes can dress up and run/walk the scenic route around Stone Lake. The Kids Fun Run will be a chance for our mini-heroes to run or fly to the end. After the races our judges will determine the best super heroes in attendance. All the winners will be added to our Super hero traveling trophy and get an individual prize. Throughout the day families can come play at the Family Fun Zone which will include carnival games, face painting, bounce house, balloon animals and more! Join the award-winning Deep Fried Pickle Project jug band as they perform their zany, kid friendly music. The Pickles will perform live and run a workshop for kids to make their own jug band instruments.

  7. United Methodist Women 4th Annual Arts & Crafts Show

    The United Methodist Women of La Porte are pleased to announce this year's show will be held at the La Porte County Fairgrounds. Visitors can browse over 75 vendor booths located inside two modern, temperature controlled buildings. The artists and crafters come from Illinois, Indiana and Michigan and specialize in making quality, handcrafted items. Lunch will be available for purchase, along with baked goods.
