Do I have to shovel snow from my walk?
The owner or occupant of any lot and parcel of land within the city, fronting upon any paved sidewalk, shall keep the sidewalk in front of such lot or parcel of land clean at all season of the year and, after any fall of snow, shall remove such snow or cause the same to be removed from such sidewalk within 24 hours after such snow has fallen. Where a house contains more than one occupant, the person occupying the ground floor shall be held liable in the first instance. When the premises are unoccupied, or when for any reason the occupant fails or refuses to remove such snow or to keep such sidewalk clean, it shall be the duty of the owner of such lot or parcel of land to remove such snow or to keep such sidewalk clean. Any individual in violation of this provision shall be subject to a fine of $50.00.The Ordinance
