Anyone living in the Jefferson Avenue neighborhood, seeing any really "nice " cars frequenting their neighborhood, coming time and again to certain houses, be sure to drop a pic, of the back end , so all can appreciate that view, it hopefully the last one of that car again? Parents be sure, to see if your child's car is nominated as being special !!! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jefferson-Avenue-Cruisers/700514599968334

During the summer, we have several events, but LaPorte seems to be lacking on winter activities. Similar to the Maple City Grand Prix, I wanted to suggest possibly holding more activities on the frozen lakes, such as ATV or Snow Mobile races. They do this in Cedar Lake - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSvLRpHA9ck I understand that its more difficult to predict temperatures in the winter along with much more safety issues. I think it is something to consider.

there should be available washrooms or porta-potties for folks watching the parade. Many folks (especially seniors and small children) can not wait a very long time without these facilities.

Shop Local Saturday...We are trying to generate an incentive to shop locally (downtown La Porte). Because of existing planned community activities in La Porte this Saturday... (Kris Kringle Blitz and Santa Parade), we think in observing Shop Local Saturday, a.k.a. Small Business Saturday, that we could get some interest by offering Specials to customers, The La Porte Co-op Shoppes is offering "Specials Throughout both buildings #1 and #2". Also, The La Porte Co-op Shoppes is happy to announce our new food vendor, “A Slice of Heaven!” Come join us and enjoy main dishes like pulled pork, bratwurst, hot dogs, and meatball subs. Also, follow it up with some Amish Acres pie, Valpo Velvet Ice Cream and a cup of gourmet coffee! Or, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or a root beer float. We are offering extended hours, open rom 9 am until 6 pm. Depending on the community response, we will know if we need to repeat this event more often.

We have this great area where a cool old church used to be (for instance?!) that a hospital bought up and turned into grass, and now they're gonna move a coupla blocks down the road right? How about a parking garage, probably a couple stories high would be sufficient in that area? How about an indoor car wash area, some indoor vending? Heck, dig down, and have some underground offices, maybe even a shelter for underprivileged?? It gets really cold sometimes, and there aren't enough slots for people to get shelter. Why can't we provide such a thing? It could pay for itself I think, and even if it didn't? Well, we pay for the area already, maybe it would offset that by a bit.
