  2. La Porte Educational Development Foundation Turkey Trot

    The La Porte Educational Development Foundation is a community volunteer organization that provides classroom grants to teachers in the La Porte Community School Corporation. Our mission is to "Energize Education." The fifth annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K Run and Walk benefits the mission of the LaPorte Educational Development Foundation. Each year the La Porte Turkey Trot keeps growing. We look forward to our biggest event this year! This year every participant, walkers, runners, joggers, sprinters, children, grandmothers, and everyone in between gets a shirt, and they are going to be awesome. The route for the Run and Walk begins at the YMCA and heads south down Michigan Avenue through Beechwood Golf Course and finishes one block north of the YMCA on Michigan Avenue.

  4. Santa Parade

    November 25, 2017, 12:00 PM @ Downtown La Porte

    Baby its cold outside, and Santa is getting ready to come to downtown La Porte! The Santa Parade, presented by the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club of La Porte, starts near the intersection of Teegarden Street and Lincolnway and continues down Lincolnway to Detroit Street. Once there, the parade will head down State Street to Michigan Avenue. After the parade, children can visit with newly-arrived Santa at his chalet at Plaza 618. Applications are available for the Santa Parade on the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce website. The deadline is November 17. It is free to participate in the parade and all groups are welcome.
