  1. “Ernie,” a one-man play

    October 29, 2016, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ La Porte Little Theatre Club

    “Ernie,” a one-man play sharing the life of Pulitzer Prize winning Indiana author Ernie Pyle will be presented at La Porte Little Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Pyle will be portrayed by actor Steven Becker who is known for his many roles at La Porte Little Theatre and throughout the area. The one-hour play is written by Jerry Holt, Chairman of the PNW Department of English and Languages. Ernie Pyle was a war correspondent during World War II who was killed in 1945. This is a fundraising event for a new LED sign at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum.

    If you are looking for a fun, creative outlet, try one of our ceramic classes. It provides a great way to get away and meet friends, all while making some unique projects for yourself or gifts for others. We offer pre-registered specialty classes as well as open classes, held in the Ceramics Room at the Civic Auditorium. The fee of the specialty classes varies per project which includes everything necessary to complete the project.

  2. Parker's 5K Prowl

    October 22, 2016, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ Stone Lake Beach

    Take a Saturday morning run through picturesque Soldiers Memorial Park!  You won't be disappointed!  The leaves will be in full color, the air will be crisp and the lake view will be calm.  Parker's 5K Prowl packet pick-up begins at the Stone Lake beach house in Soldiers Memorial Park at 8 a.m. Central Time.  The run begins at 9 a.m. on Grangemouth Drive and continues to Waverly Road, Garden Street, Orchard Avenue, Lakeshore Drive and back to Grangemouth.  Awards presented to the top overall male and female and top Masters male and female finishers.  Certificates presented to top three male and female finishers in the following age groups:  14-and-under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70-and-older.  Post-race food will be available at Stone Lake beach house, including sandwiches, fruit, vegetables and granola bars.  Water will also be provided. Proceeds from this event benefit our youth scholarships!

  3. Parker's Pumpkin Prance Fun Run

    Children through age 12 can participate in Parker's Pumpkin Prance! Participants are encouraged to wear their costume for this NEW family-friendly event! The fun run will begin and end on Grangemouth Road in Soldiers Memorial Park. Each child participant will receive a pumpkin at the end of the event. Parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, grandparents are all welcome to join in with your participating child (you can come in your costume, too)! Due to safety concerns, strollers, bicycles, roller-blades and skateboards are not permitted.
