Babe Ruth Baseball

Keeping baseball fun is the primary concern of our program. We believe in participation for all, positive competition and building character. We teach fundamentals and traditions of the game, champion sportsmanship and encourage family and community support.

Registration begins with Youth Sports Registration Nights from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, and Thursday, January 19, in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium. Cost is $90 for first child and $80 for each additional child in same household. Registration available beginning January 20 at the Park Office (250 Pine Lake Avenue) or on-line. An additional $20 will be added to registration fee after March 10.


Make checks payable to the La Porte Park and Recreation Department. Visa/Master Card accepted. Please bring the participant's birth certificate along with the appropriate registration fee.

Babe Ruth Baseball (For Boys, Ages 13-15)
This is where players get their baseball cleats muddy for the first time on standard 90-foot diamonds under Official Baseball Rules used by Major League Baseball. Program includes six weeks of preseason practices followed by 12-game schedule and double-elimination tournament. Rally Day will be at noon Saturday, March 25, at the Civic Auditorium. League practices begin March 27, games run early-May through beginning of July.

Travel/Tournament Teams
The program offers Tournament Teams for 15U, 14U and 13U divisions (depending upon the number of players interested, age groups may be combined). Only participants in the La Porte Park and Recreation Department Babe Ruth program are eligible for the Tournament Teams and must play for their age group as determined by their age on or before April 30, 2017.
