Girls Slowpitch Softball

Keeping softball fun — especially in the early stages of youth participation — is the primary concern of our programs. We believe in participation for all, positive competition and building character. We teach fundamentals and traditions of the game, champion sportsmanship and encourage family and community support.

Registration Nights will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, and Thursday, Feb. 18, at the Civic Auditorium (held in lower level; use side door down the ramp on Plain Street to enter the building). The cost of the program is $50 for the first child and $40 for each additional child in same household. On-line registration available beginning Friday, Feb. 19. Late registration also available at the Park Office with a $20 late fee charged after March 11.
Junior Award
Make checks payable to the La Porte Park and Recreation Department. Visa/Master Card accepted. Please bring the participant's birth certificate along with the appropriate registration fee.

(Divisions determined by participants age on or before April 30, 2016.)

Coach Pitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 7-9)
Start your young player out right by learning the fundamentals of softball, with coaches providing consistent pitching to help develop hitting skills. Girls will learn other essential skills such as throwing, catching and fielding. Rally Day will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Civic Auditorium. League practices begin April 18, games run late-May through beginning of July.

Junior Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 10-12)
Format allows for more contact at the plate, more action in the field and greater development of defensive skills. Program includes six weeks of preseason practices followed by 12-game schedule and single-elimination tournament.
Rally Day will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Civic Auditorium. League practices begin March 28, games run early-May through beginning of July.

Senior Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 13-17)
Players continue to enjoy the plentiful action in the field, with healthy competition and camaraderie. Program includes six weeks of preseason practices followed by 12-game schedule and single-elimination tournament. Rally Day will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Civic Auditorium. League practices begin March 28, games run early-May through beginning of July. (18-year-old high school students will be accepted.)

Fall Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 9-16)
Our Fall Slowpitch Softball program, divided into Senior (ages 12-16) and Junior (ages 9-11) divisions, prepares players for the next season. Our emphasis will be on instruction and constructive competition as players look to take their games to the next level. Registration begins Tuesday, July 5, at the Park Office. Program includes three weeks of preseason practices followed by eight-game schedule and single-elimination tournament. League practices begin Aug. 15, games run early-September through beginning of October.
