Keeping softball fun — especially in the early stages of youth participation — is the primary concern of our programs. We believe in participation for all, positive competition and building character. We teach fundamentals and traditions of the game, champion sportsmanship and encourage family and community support.
Register from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, and Thursday, Feb. 19, at Civic Auditorium (held in lower level; use the side door down ramp on Plain Street to enter building). Cost of the program is $45 for first child and $35 for each additional child in same household. Beginning Feb. 20, registration available at Park Office (250 Pine Lake Ave.) or by phone with Visa/MasterCard. Make checks payable to the La Porte Park and Recreation Department. An additional $20 will be added to registration fee after March 6.

Coach Pitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 7-9) Start your young player out right by learning the fundamentals of softball, with coaches providing consistent pitching to help develop hitting skills. Girls will learn other essential skills such as throwing, catching and fielding. League practices begin April 20, games run late-May through July.
Junior Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 10-12)
Format allows for more contact at the plate, more action in the field and greater development of defensive skills. Program includes six weeks of preseason practices followed by 12-game schedule and single-elimination tournament. League practices begin March 30, games run mid-May through July.
Senior Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 13-17) Players continue to enjoy the plentiful action in the field, with healthy competition and camaraderie. Program includes six weeks of preseason practices followed by 12-game schedule and single-elimination tournament.League practices begin March 30, games run mid-May through July. (18-year-old high school students will be accepted.)
Fall Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 9-16)
Our Fall Slowpitch Softball program, divided into Senior (ages 12-16) and Junior (ages 9-11) divisions, prepares players for the next
season. Our emphasis will be on instruction and constructive competition
as players look to take their games to the next level. Registration begins July 6, with games running Sept. 12 through Oct. 10.
