Girls Slowpitch Softball

Keeping softball fun — especially in the early stages of youth participation — is the primary concern of our programs. We believe in participation for all, positive competition and building character. We teach fundamentals and traditions of the game, champion sportsmanship and encourage family and community support.

Junior Award
Fall Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 9-16)
Join us for our Fall Slowpitch Softball program, as we prepare players for next season. Our emphasis will be on instruction and constructive competition as players look to take their games to the next level. The program is for girls ages 9-16 (as of April 30, 2014) with two ages divisions, Senior and Junior. Practices begin the week of Aug. 18. Games are held beginning Sept. 13, running through Oct. 11.

Cost of the program is $45 for first child and $35 for each additional child in same household. An additional $20 will be added to registration fee after Aug. 1. Registration available beginning Monday, July 9, at Park Office (250 Pine Lake Ave.) or by phone with Visa/MasterCard. Make checks payable to the La Porte Park and Recreation Department.

Coach Pitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 7-9)
Participants will learn fundamentals of softball, with coaches providing consistent pitching to help develop hitting skills. Girls will learn other essential skills such as throwing, catching and fielding. Program includes five weeks of preseason practices followed by 10-game schedule and single-elimination tournament.

Junior Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 10-12)
Primary emphasis of the program is on education, skill development, participation for all girls and having fun. Slowpitch format allows for more action in the field and greater development of defensive skills. Program includes six weeks of preseason practices followed by 12-game schedule and single-elimination tournament.
 
Senior Slowpitch Softball (For Girls, Ages 13-17)
Players continue to enjoy the plentiful action in the field, with healthy competition and camaraderie. Program includes six weeks of preseason practices followed by 12-game schedule and single-elimination tournament. (18-year-old high school students will be accepted.)
