The clinics run from 8-8:50 a.m. for Rookie (ages 7-8), from 9-9:50 a.m. for Minor (ages 9-10) and from 10-10:50 a.m. for Major (ages 11-12).

Travel/Tournament Teams
The program offers Tournament Teams for 12U, 11U, 10U and 9U divisions (depending upon the number of players interested, age groups may be combined). Teams participate in six or more tournaments from April through July, including Cal Ripken State Tournament. Only participants in the La Porte Park and Recreation Department Cal Ripken program are eligible for the Tournament Teams and must play for their age group as determined by their age on or before April 30, 2016.

Workouts for any players interested in travel will be held in January and February (dates to be announced). Team selections will be made in late February. Teams will be selected by the Tournament Team coaching staff, with oversight from league administrators and coaches. There is no fee for the workouts, however, if selected players must pay an additional fee and possibly participate in fundraising (2016 fee ranged from $120-$175 depending upon age group and number of tournaments).

A Tournament Team will be selected in May for the 8U age group to represent the league in the Cal Ripken State Tournament in July.
